Arie Noteboom (Nootenboom) Dies

On Monday (25th) occurred the death of Arie Noteboom (Nootenboom), of Perkins, Iowa. After a long siege of illness.

Death was the result of the incurable disease cancer. Mr. Nootenboom was born in Holland in 1857 and came to this country when he was 25 years of age. He was married and had nine children of whom, six are still living.

Funeral service were held on Thursday, at the home at Perkins and in the First Reformed church of Hull. Rev. Douwstra officiating.

He was 67 years old at the time of his death. Interment was made at the Sioux Center Cemetery.

The sincere sympathy of all goes forth to the bereaved relatives.

Arie Noteboom (Nootenboom) born about 1858 in the Netherlands was a resident of Lincoln Tsp, Sioux County IA. His mother was Neiltje Noteboom and father was Jan Hoff His wife was Gertie/Grietje Niessink dau of John Niessink and Hendrika Velthoun(Veltboom?) Children were Lun (Leendert) 14 and Lubbert 13 and Case 21.

In the 1920 census Arie Nootenboom lived in Sioux County IA, age 62 born Netherlands, Wife Grietje 48, John 26, Henry 24, Gerrit 21, Cornelius 16, Leendert 9 and Lubbert 8.

In the 1900 census Arie Nootenboom was living in Sioux Center born Dec 1857 Holland, wife Grietje Nootenboom, married 6 years about 1894. Immigrated to USA in 1884, Children John, Henry, Gerret, and John.

From the Sioiux county marriage record - Arie Nootenboom born 1858 Holland age 35 married Grietje Niessink born 1870 Holland age 23, married 29 Nov 1893 at Sioux Center IA, groom's father Jan Hoff and mother Neiltje Noteboom. Grietje's parents were Jan Niessink and Hendrikje Veldhoen.)
