Hi, I am Wilma J. Vande Berg. I can help you with the Swart information. However, I need more information on the two sisters.
They were Van de Hoef's, what are the birth dates and where , who are the parents, who are the husbands, first names.
Johanna Van Beek must not have been buried in this area Orange City as their were no settlers her until that time around 1870. Did they live somewhere else first?
Bertha Mrs. Mindert Swart or Zwart (z) died about Nov 10, 1900 as reported in the Sioux County Herald of Nov 14, 1900. She was buried from the First Reformed church in Orange City so most likely buried in the Orange City cemetery. There is no stone or record as in 1903 the records burnt in a hotel fire. So no chance of finding her grave site in the old part of the cemetery. Her husband was quite a character. I will have to find the research I did for Margaret Pederson on that family and report back to you on that. She has done a family history of them. gmpederson@msn.com
