Dear R. Miller:

I have looked in serval sources in the Hawarden area for the names of Jackson C. Miller and wife Helen Treat. These include the index to the Hawarden Centennial book and the Sioux County Cemetery Index with no luck. There is no 1890 Fed. Census to reference. Was your Jackson Miller at resident of the area long term or just a few years? There are so many Millers in the records it is hard to determine if there is a relationship. There is only one John in the cemetery index that would be in that time period. John Miller born 1864 d. 1940 buried in Peace Luth. cemtery rural Sioux Center. Would they have been here in 1895? There is an 1885 and 1895 STate census to check?
Those are about the only clue I can think of presently. Wilma J. Vande Berg, researcher
