Stena Yunker, 92, Rock Valley, died Thursday, August 10, 1989 in Valley Manor Nursing Home.

Stena Toft was born March 9, 1897, northwest of Hawarden, Iowa. She attended rural Hawarden schools. She married Fred Yunker Jan. 29, 1923, at her parents' home. They farmed in Garfield Township, Iowa, until 1975, when they retired into Rock Valley.

Her husband died June 19, 1978. She moved to the nursing home in 1983, then lived with her son before returning to the nursing home. She was a member of the Hudson Lutheran Church and the church ladies aid.

Survivors include one son, Marlow, Rock Valley; three daughters: Mrs. James (Arlene) VanDrimmel, Rollingbay, Wash.; Mrs. Bill (Leah Ellen) Drechtrak, St. Cloud, Minn.; and Mrs. Erv (Beverly) Michaud, Green Bay, Wis.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Olson, Porterville, Calif.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 12 in Hudson Lutheran Church. Burial was in Eden Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
