Arlene M. Van Drimmelen, age 79, of Rolling Bay, Washington, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2004, in Seattle, Washington, after a long battle with leukemia. Memorial services were held on Monday, October 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church. Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
Arlene was born on February 18, 1925, to Fritz and Stena Yunker in Rock Valley, IA. Arlene was a graduate of Rock Valley High School and also later graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. Arlene married James Van Drimmelen on June 10, 1950, in Hudson, South Dakota.
Arlene made a living as a homemaker and secretary. She was an active member at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church for 41 years and served as an Elder there. She also loved sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, James Van Drimmelen of Rolling Bay, WA; son Jon Van Drimmelen of Stockton, CA; daughter Anne Ross of Kamloops, British Columbia; brother Marlowe Yunker of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Beverly Michaud of De Pere, WI; and four grandchildren: Brad Ross of Kamloops, BC; Todd, Jake, Kyle Van Drimmelen of Stockton, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Stena Yunker and a sister Leah Ellen Drektrah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 131, Rolling Bay, WA 98061.
