Henry Putnam, an old settler of Sioux county, and an esteemed citizen, died at his farm near Hull last week, leaving a widow and several children to mourn his death.

(From the Cemetery Index Henry Putnam 62 yrs died 30 May 1893 buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery Hull IA. Wife Elizabeth b. 12 Dec 1848 died 2 Sep 1905. From an extensive family history on ancestry.com found Henry P. Putnam born Apr 9, 1832 to Denys Patenaude and Jovite Dufaux in St. John's Montreal Quebec Canada. His first wife Rose King 1831-1863 married 1850 in VT, and they had seven children; Julia 1850, Dennis 1851, Horace 1857, Brizzle 1853, Cornelia, 1858, Sarah 1860, Edmond 1861. He married Elizabeth Burlette 1865 in WI, she was born 1848 died 1905, they had nine children - Frank 1866, Mary 1867, Joseph 1870, Margaret 1872, Adeline 1873, Alfred 1876, Luella 1879, Charles 1881, Cecilia 1883. The family lived on a farm North of Hull in Lyon County)
