ADELE BREMER
Funeral services for Adel Bremer, 93, were held Tuesday, Sept 6, at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Ocheyedan, with Rev. Richard Jordan and Rev. Royce Leckband officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ocheyedan, with Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley and Ocheyedan, in charge of arrangements.
Adele Kathrina Dorothea Bremer, daughter of George W. and Sophie (Kappy) Ostermann, was born on May 8, 1902 in rural Struble. She was baptized on May 25, 1902 at her parents' home by Pastor E. Riedel. At the age of five, she moved with her parents to Sioux county, where she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Ireton. In the spring of 1911, they moved to Osceola county where Adele attended Zion Lutheran School and went to church at St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she was confirmed in 1915.
She married Edward F. Bremer, Ocheyedan, on Feb. 7, 1923 in Ocheyedan. They lived in Horton township, rural Ocheyedan, where they farmed. In 1958 they moved to Ocheyedan. Edward died on March 23, 1966.
Adele was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Horton township, rural Ocheyedan, where she was a charter member of the Dorcas Society and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Horton Farm Bureau Ladies group, and Country Ladies Chorus, American legion Auxiliary, and the Ocheyedan Township Circle.
Adel died Saturday, Sept 3, 1994 at the Worthington Regional Hospital in Worthington, Minn.
Survivors are two sons, Donald and wife, Marian Bremer of Ocheyedan and Alvin (Al) and wife, Marge Bremer of Mason City; six grandchildren; one brother, Harold Ostermann of Fort Collins, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Arlene Range, four brothers and seven sisters.
