Noreen Jongma, 87, of Lawton, IA entered eternal rest on Friday, August 9, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will follow at Hospers Cemetery in Hospers, Iowa, Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Noreen was Born May 14,1937 in Hull Iowa to Ethel (Lutjens) and William Reit. She attended school in Hull. On September 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Sidney Jongma in Hull.

She began working at her parents’ coffee shop in Hull and worked in several restaurants and later at Wal Mart in Sioux City.

Her family was very important to her. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved babies and was able to meet and hold her twin great granddaughters that are two months old.

Noreen loved to crochet and made many beautiful items for family and friends.

She loved serving the Lord in many church group organizations. She was a member of Peace Reformed Church in Sioux City.

Noreen is survived by her children, Dwayne Jongma of Brunsville, Iowa, Dee (Doris) and Bert Shoumaker of Lawton, Iowa, Deanne Adams of Sioux City, Iowa and Denise and Don Monroe of Sioux City, Iowa, and son-in-law Jim Montgomery of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren, Justin Helget, BJ (Sarah) Shoumaker, Rachel Shoumaker (Casey Blackmore), Jonathan Shoumaker, Molly (Dan) Carpenter, Zach Jongma, Megan (Rob) Bell, Lindsey Monroe (Staci Hansen), Mallorie (Logen) Bonnema, Ayden Monroe, Khloe Monroe, Derek Jongma, Krissy Viorla, Jessica (Wayne) Pollard, and Troy Adams as well as eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Darla Montgomery, daughter-in-law Mary (Monroe) Jongma, brother, Royce Reit, great Grandson Maxwell Viorla and Grandson-in-law Todd Viorla.
