Burial services were held on Thursday June 1, at the Memorial Garden here for Harold Deiters, former Sioux Center resident. Rev. C. Van Schouwen officiated at burial rites. Vander Ploeg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harold passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 55.

He was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Deiters and was born and raised in Sioux Center. He graduated from the local high school and served in the navy on a destroyer at Guadcanal on through the invasion of the Marshals and Marianna group of islands.

His parents, three brothers, Larry, Lutz and John, and one sister, Mrs. Richard Juffer, preceded him in death.
