Anna Joyce “Ann” was born on September 14, 1934, on her family’s farm near Middleburg, one of four children born to Frank and Eva (Van Oort) Vander Wilt. She grew up on the farm and attended country school through the eighth grade. After graduating from the Western Christian High School in Hull at the age of sixteen, Ann began working at the Northwestern State Bank in Orange City.

On May 29, 1959, Ann was united in marriage to William “Bill” Boote at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City, where they raised their family and Ann worked as a homemaker. After their children were older, she returned to working at the bank until her retirement in 1996. Bill passed away on February 7, 1997, in Orange City, after more than 38 years of marriage. In 2020, Ann moved to the Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community, and in June of 2023, she became a resident of the Prairie Ridge Care Center, both in Orange City.

Ann was a long-time member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. She had a strong and quiet faith that carried her through the years, and most recently through her cancer journey. Ann enjoyed baking, refinishing furniture, hand embroidery, and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. She was also blessed to go on numerous trips with Bill, as well as yearly trips with a special group of friends. Ann's greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow.

Those grateful to have shared in her life include two sons and their families, David and Karmin Boote, of Marion; and their children, Breanna Boote, of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Emma and Joey Ness, of Cedar Rapids, and their children, Taylor and Anika; Steve and Lori Boote, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and their children, Ashley and Tommy Clark, of Nashville, Tennessee, and their child, Kendall, Josh and Molly Kruger, of Sioux Falls, and their children, Ali and Joey, and Kassidy and Nick Bruhn, of Omaha, Nebraska; a daughter and her family, Deb and Shane Walter, of Orange City; and their children, Garrett and Amanda Walter, of Kearney, Nebraska, Jack Walter, of Sioux Falls, Sarah Walter, of Dallas, Texas, and Josh Walter, of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Marvella, and her husband, Jim Van Klompenburg, of Sioux City; and Hermina La Point, of Fort Collins, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Muriel Vander Wilt, of Sheldon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by Bill’s Parents, William and Marie (Juffer) Boote; a brother and his wife, Gary and Eunice Vander Wilt; a brother-in-law, Bob La Point; and Bill’s brother and his wife, Don and Rie Boote.
