Ms. Stacy Davey, age 41, of Harrisburg, South Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, September 4, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 5, at 11:00am, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Mark Haverdink officiating.

Stacy Ann, the daughter of Kenneth Gene and Barbara Ann (Gesink) Huenink, was born on August 12, 1982, in Sioux Center, Iowa. She spent her childhood in Orange City, Iowa, where she attended the Maurice-Orange City Elementary School and High School. After graduating from high school in 2001, Stacy enrolled at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and earned her associate degree in surgical technology. Following her schooling, Stacy began working with seniors as a care giver and certified nursing assistant. She was employed at several nursing homes in and around Sioux Falls, including Prairie Crossing and Bethesda of Beresford. She found satisfaction in her work by helping residents retain as much dignity as possible in the last years of their lives.

Stacy was married to Nicholas Davey in 2004, and although they were later divorced, they were blessed with two children, Mason and Madyson. In 2018, she met Weylin Miller, and together they made their home in Harrisburg, South Dakota. Stacy enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, as well as refurbishing antique furniture and decorating. She enjoyed listening to country music and loved being around animals. She also looked forward to camping and fishing trips with her friends and family.

Survivors include her fiancé, Weylin Miller, of Harrisburg; her two children, Mason Davey and Madyson Davey, both of Worthing, South Dakota; her mother Barbara, and her husband, Stee Maxwell, of Orange City; her father, Kenneth Huenink, of Alton; a brother and his wife, Chris and Tonya Huenink, and their three children, Ellie, Ezra, and Olivia, all of Orange City; a half-sister and her husband, Chasity and Greg Sutherland, of Kearney, Nebraska; two stepsisters Andrea Maxwell, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Erin Maxwell, of London, England; her maternal grandmother, Audrey Gesink, of Orange City; as well as Weylin’s two daughters, Justyce Miller, and her friend, Seth Weiland, of Beresford, South Dakota; and Danica Miller, of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Elmer Gesink; and her paternal grandparents, Richard and Gretta Huenink.

Memorials will be given to the family for future designation.
