Murphy, James age 70 years died Jan 17, 1892 Hull.

Murphy – At the home of his sons three miles northeast of Hull, on Jan 17th 1892 of quick consumption, James Murphy; aged 70 years. The deceased was born in County Cork, Ireland, in the year 1822. When 24 years of age he emigrated to the state of New York, and later to the state of Wisconsin; being one of the pioneer settlers of that state.

Ten years ago he moved with his family to Iowa and has since resided on a farm near Hull at which place he died. He leaves a brother and sister and eight children, three sons and five daughters, to mourn his loss. He was universally like by all his neighbors and acquaintances. The funeral services took place at the Catholic church at this place on Tuesday, Rev. Father Phelan officiating, and his remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery here.
