Moojen – At the home of his parents, in this city, on January 7th of consumption, William Moojen age 21 years. The funeral service took place from the Dutch Reformed church on Saturday Rev. B. Lammers, officiating. The services at the grave were conducted under the auspices of Company E, I. N. G. of which organization deceased was a member. For more than a year he had been suffering from consumption, and no grander courage of more sublime resignation were ever witnessed than displayed by this frail weak young man upon his bed of lingering pain and death. He has closed his eyes upon this bright, beautiful world which he loved so well. His place in the happy home circle is vacant, but about it there will ever linger the most sacred and hallowed memories of a tender, and a kind, unselfish son and brother. A bright young man, surrounded by all that makes earth so fair, in the noon day of life, touched by the unseen hand and laid away by sorrowing friends beneath the unsympathetic clay. ‘Yet after all , it may be best just in the happiest, sunniest hours of all the voyage, when eager winds are kissing every sail, to dash against the unseen rock and hear the billows roar above a sunken ship’. At the end of every life the curtain of the future is closely drawn and we have no power to look beyond, but in the heart of all their lives the hope that sometime in the vague, far off time to come that curtain will be lifted and we will know and live again those who filled out lives with happiness and joy.
