From De Volksvriend, April 28, 1932 (in Dutch):

Friday, 22 April, at 10:15 in the morning, Mrs. Taeke Zuidema, nee Ygbertje Leistra, quietly and calmly exchanged the temporal for the eternal, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 8 days. At the beginning of January she was found to be suffering from cancer, but 10 days ago she suffered a stroke, which was the immediate cause of her death.

Born in Wynaldum, Friesland, Netherlands, in September 1881 she was united with Taeke Zuidema in Sexbleruim. This union was blessed with two children, Egbert Cornelius of Walnut Grove, Minn., and Jocarra (Mrs. Eise Kooi) of Lansing, Illinois. In the spring [no year given] the family came to Orange City, and settled on a farm. They also lived in South Dakota for a while, but in 1907 settled in Orange City permanently. In Sept. 1931 they were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Zuidema was esteemed by all who knew her.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 in the First Reformed church. The deceased was cared for during the past six weeks by her daughter, Mrs. Kooi, who came with her two children from Lansing, Ill., for that purpose.
