Mrs. Donna Keonig, age 88, of Orange City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars.

There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, May 19, at 11:00am, at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Dr. Brian Keepers and Mr. Tom Van Rooyen will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Public viewing without the family will be on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Donna was born on December 15, 1932, on the family farm south of Canton, South Dakota. She was the second daughter of six girls born to Leo and Martha (Hansen) Tollefson. She loved helping her father with the farm duties.

She attended the Moe country school and graduated from the Augustana Academy in Canton.

Grandma Donna loved her grandchildren to the moon and back.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Deborah Strand, of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and Diane (Tom) Van Rooyen, of Hudson, South Dakota; two stepdaughters, Kandy Strum and Kelly (Tom) Kandt; eight grandchildren, Amy (Kenny) Fares, Mia (Greg) Nelson, Ian Vogel, Ali (Arron) Goepfert, Tanya (Nate) Vaas, Joshua (Kelly) Van Rooyen, and Tasha (Chris) Larson; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Klarich and Linda Hoyt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louis Keonig, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Strand and Donald Strand; a grandson, Richie Strand; and three sisters, Betty Clay, Carol Myers, and Cleone Tollefson, who died in infancy.
