After about 3 years of illness, old Mr. Dirk de Kok was relieved on Saturday. He was allowed to reach the age of 84 years and 2 months. On Monday, the remains were buried from the Ref church, and the worship service led by Dr. Steffens. The Man has been in a very helpless state of late, but enjoyed the privilege of being lovingly cared for by his own. De Kok was silent in the country, and passed away in peace.

He died 7 Apr 1900 Orange City IA. He married Bastiane Van Der Meide 1836-1917. They had four children Jan 1865, Conrad 1868, Dirk 1874 and Richard 1874.
