Foreman, Harold John born 1955 died Sep 12, 2020

From the Siouxland Press of Sept. 23, 2020

Harold John foreman passed away peacefully on September 12, 2020 at his Linn Valley Kansas home following a year long struggle with pancreatic cancer. His wife Brenda was with him.

Harold was born February 6, 1955 to Richard and Josephine Schneider Foreman. He was raised in Alton Iowa along with brothers Robert ‘Bob’, Rex and Rick and sister Donna and Jane. Following graduating from Floyd Valley High School, Harold was employed by his father at Foreman Tire Service.

Harold was a bright and sunny spirit. He was light- hearted and adventurous. As a young man he jumped at the chance in 1975 to join his sister and her husband on an international journey: flying to London and spending 3 months camping from France to Saudi Arabia. He brought wide eyed curiosity, enthusiasm, and charming good nature to the trip. Later in life that same sense of adventure would lead Harold and Brenda to new opportunities in Lincoln NE, DesMoines, IA, Fort Smith AR, Omaha NE, and finally Missouri and Kansas.

Harold worked with his dad and brothers at Foreman Tire Service for over 25 years, eventually taking over the Remsen shop. Harold, with his ready smile was a ‘born’ salesman. He was also a kind person who was always ready to lend a hand. Harold and Brenda Appeldorn were married on April 6, 1999. When he and Brneda became on site managers of several independent retirement centers and mobile home communities, Harold’s generosity and ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds made him a great friend to many.

Survivors include his wife Brenda (Appeldorn), his stepsons Andy Appeldorn and family of Liberty KS, Joseph VanOort and wife of Sioux Falls SD, his sister Fonna Vaselaar of Houston, TX; and siblings and their spouses, Rex and Eileen Foreman of Alton; Rick and Lorie Foreman of Orange City; and Jane and Randy Brown of Waller, TX. He is also survived by three step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will cherish the time and memories shared with him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Robert ‘Bob’ and Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Foreman; his infant son from this first marriage, Robee James and his brother in law Charlie Vaselaar.

Condolences may be sent to Brenda Foreman at 33 Lakeview Lane Linn Valley KS. Celebration of Life Services are pending.
