Miss Johanna Eppink, die Zaterdag een week geleden uit het gesticht te Cherokee onder het ouderlijk dak terugkeerde, in de laatste periode der tering verkeerende, is Zondag overleden. De begrafenis van het stoffelijk overschot had Dinsdag plaats.
Translated:
Miss Johanna Eppink, who returned from the asylum in Cherokee under the parental roof on Saturday a week ago, during the last period of consumption, passed away on Sunday. The funeral of the remains was on Tuesday.

(consumption was equal to TB which ravaged so many young adults at that time)

From the church membership records of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center, W. J. Eppink and wife Hendrika Te Grotenhuis hade the following children- Jan Willem 1877, Janna 19 Jul 1878, Engelina 1878 and Gerrit 1881 died 1882. In the deaths in the index of Rev. DePree was Annie 26 years died Jun 13, 1905.
