FRANCES DE GOOYER Des Moines

Frances De Gooyer, 96, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Des Moines.

Frances was born November 12, 1908 in Orange City to Dick and Ruth (Aalfs) Vander Berg.

She was married to Arie De Gooyer in Orange City and they moved to Des Moines in 1943.

Frances worked for Frankel's Clothing for over 20 years then worked for Dorothy Browns Reweaving Shop for seven years before retiring at the age of 80.

She sang in the choir for over 50 years, served on the Board of Deacons and the Board of Memorial and Legacy.

She loved walking, gardening, outside work and music.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arie; three sisters, Eunice, Anne and Alma; and one brother, Ralph.

She is survived by her son, Alan of Des Moines; former daughter-in-law, Suzan De Gooyer of Miami, Florida and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials are suggested to her church or the American Cancer Society.
