Funeral services were held Friday afternoon October 14 at the First Reformed Church at Sioux Center for Mr. Frank De Gooyer who passed away at the hospital at Albert Lea, Minnesota, on Tuesday afternoon October 11.

Reverend Peter A. De Jong officiated at the services and interment took place at the local cemetery.

Mr. De Gooyer left Sioux Center about a month ago with his brother William of Sioux City to seek medical aid at the Rochester Minnesota hospital. He was however unable to reach Rochester due to his serious condition and was taken to the Albert Lea Hospital.

Later on he went to Rochester where his condition was found to be to serious for aid and he returned to Albert Lea to be near his sister. He was suffering from cancerous tumors.

Mr. De Gooyer is survived by three brothers and four sisters namely William of Sioux City, John W. of Sanborn, Arie C. of Des Moines, Nettie De Gooyer of Prairie City, Iowa, Ina (Mrs. K. E. Corray) of Los Angeles, California, Jennie (Mrs. W. W. Sadler) of Pella, Cornelia ( Mrs. Thorval Sheldon) of Clarks Grove, Minnesota. Two infant brothers and his parents preceded him in death.

He was in the restaurant business here for thirty years, first as an employee, later as a partner and then for himself, He leaves to mourn his death a host of friends both here and elsewhere.

Note: His parents were Hendrik and Tillie (Kolthol) De Gooyer.
