In den nacht van Dinsdag op Woendag is overleden de oude heer Valentijn, na een langdurig likden aan waterzucht en een borstkwaal, De begrafenis zal Vrijdag Plaats bebben.
Translated:
In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, old Mr. Valentine is overloaded, after a long illness of dropsy and a chest ailment. The funeral will take place Friday.

From the Church membership record of First Reformed church Sioux Center lists the family of Klaas Valentyn and Anna Dussel, children Jan, 1871, Minnie 1874, Orrin 1877, Jantje 1882.
