Gisterennadbiddag was onze publieke school gesloten opdat de onderwijzers en leerlingen in staat zonden zijn de begrafenis bij te wonen van Jacob Heidelberg, bij zijn leven janitor der school. Wel een bewijs dat men zijn diesten als zoodanig op prijs stelde.
Translated:
Yesterday afternoon our public school was closed so that teachers and students would be able to attend the funeral of Jacob Heidelberg, the school janitor during his life. Proof that people appreciated his services as such.
