Bennett Vander Windt, infant son of Cainen and Jessica (Eshuis) Vander Windt, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at his parent’s home in rural Le Mars, surrounded by his loving family.

There will be a private family graveside service on Wednesday, December 23, at 10:00am, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton. The Rev. Nate Kuperus will officiate. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Ireton Christian Reformed Church. Those in attendance are asked to use face coverings and abide by social distancing guidelines. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Bennett Cainen was born on December 3, 2020, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, having been diagnosed earlier in the year with Trisomy 13, a chromosomal condition.

Survivors include his parents, Cainen and Jessica, of Le Mars; his grandparents, Jarret Eshuis, of Brandon, South Dakota; Kristi Eshuis, of Pipestone, Minnesota; and Mike and Jill Vander Windt, of Le Mars; his great-grandparents, Cornelius and Gaylene Eshuis, of Orange City; David and Ruth Kooiker, of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; Roger and Linda Broek, of Sioux Center; and Ella Mae Vander Windt, of Orange City; along with numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Shirley Eshuis; and his great-grandfather, Henry Vander Windt.
