Funeral services were held at the Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Jerry De Raad at 1:45 P.M. She passed away Thursday morning at 2:00 A.M. February 11th, at the Grossman Hospital in Orange City after a lingering illness.

The Reverend D. Vander Haar, pastor of the church, conducted the funeral services. Interment was made at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

A quartette of the church sang “Any Where With Jesus” and “Shadows”.

Mrs. Jerry De Raad nee Elizabeth Baartman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arie Baartman, was born March 18, 1905 near Rock Valley and passed away at the Grossman Hospital in Orange City on Thursday, February 11, 1954 at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 24 days.

She was united in marriage to Jerry De Raad on June 6, 1927 at Leota, Minnesota. There is one son Arthur James born to this union.

She is survived by her husband and son and her mother, Mrs. Gertie (Sneller) Baartman of Boyden; three brothers--Peter of Decatur, Michigan; Edward of Kenneth Minnesota; and William of Hull; one sister “Jeanette” Mrs. Art Thomassen of Sheldon and one grandson Arie Berry
