REVEREND A.W. DE JONGE PASSES AWAY AT HIS HOME IN NEW JERSEY

Reverend Albert W. De Jonge, former pastor of the Hull First Reformed Church, passed away at his home in Hawthorne, New Jersey. Reverend De Jonge was well known in this area and among many others, performed the marriage ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Korthals. Reverend De Jonge married the Korthals on the 20th of February 1913 at the home of the late Mrs. Gertrude Korthals, mother of Mrs. Leonard Korthals, and Mrs. Peter De Boer, both of Boyden, Iowa.

The Reverend De Jonge died November 10th at his home in Hawthorne, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Western Theological Seminary. He served as a pastor in the Fourth Reformed Church of Holland, Michigan; First Reformed Church of Hull, Iowa, a church in Minnesota; Third and Seventh Reformed and Franklin Street Christian Reformed Churches in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and the First Reformed Church of Paterson, New Jersey.

Survivors are two sons, two daughters, a brother, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on November 13 in Grand Haven, Michigan.

Note: Reverend De Jonge was married to Kate Van Zanten in 1898. She passed away 1925. He then married Gertrude Vander Wende.
