The funeral service for Mr. A. Vander Veen of Boyden were held on Saturday afternoon at the home and at the First Reformed church. Mr. Vander Veen had been ill but for a short time and his death was a shock to the entire community. The complete obituary will be published next week.

The 12 March 1930, pleased to take the Lord from our midst, after a short-lived illness, our loved ones' love and father, Arend Van Der Veen, in the age of 71 years, 3 months, 7 days. We do not grieve as those who have no hope for his life was his Christ and his dying gain. His desire was to be disbanded and be with his Savior. Although our loss is great, his Christian Confession remains and our sweet consolation.

He was the son of Wolter VanderVeen 1824-1905 and Bijgje Stange 1824-1902. He married Fennigje Labots VanderVeen 5 May 1887 Doornspijk Neth. Wife Fennigje Labots born 5 Jul 1861 Oldebroek Neth died 31 Oct 1943 Blendon MI. Children listed were, Bijgje, William, Marrigje, Walter, Effie, Aart, Benjamin, Arthur and Martin.
