Maynard Drost passed away at Denver, Colorado on November 5, 1971.

Maynard was born July 13, 1918. He was formerly of Orange City and worked at the Cambier Body Shop for several years. He was presently employed by the Goodman Motor Company of Denver.

Services were held at the Bullock Colonial Chapel of Englewood, Colorado, on November 9, 1971 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating were Reverend L.L. Lewis and Reverend Doyle Roth. Organist was Mrs. Frank Ankenman and soloist was Herbert Bonks. Casket bearers were the owner and employees of the Goodman Motors.

Surviving are his wife, Freda, nee Kosters; sons, Bruce and Greg Drost; grandsons, Shawn and Cory Drost; Brothers, Gerrit Drost of Minnesota, Gerald of Denver, and Rudy of Orange City; sisters, Mrs. Tracy Halma of California, Minnie Feenstra of Orange City, Irene Jones of Delaware, Wilma Van Zee of Minnesota and Dorothy Kleinhesselink of Orange City.

Burial was at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Maynard was the son of John and Jennie Gros Westra. His parents immigrated to the United States from the Netherlands with their two daughters, Tracy and Minnie, in 1913, settling in Iowa. Maynard and his brother, Gerald, were born in Iowa. When Maynard was just 5 months old, his father died of influenza. His mother married Arie Drost in 1919, and the Westra children took on the name Drost.
