From the Alton Democrat, December 2, 1937:

School Boy At Alton Is Called

Odilo Scnee [Schnee], 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Schnee of Alton, died at his home here on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 25, after an extended illness. Odilo had never been a strong boy and his schooling had been conducted under a severe handicap of illness, but he was the idol of the family and smart as a whip.

Born May 5, 1927, he was the fourth oldest child in the family. Odilo had been making great plans for Christmas and his sudden passing was a severe blow to the family and to all who knew him. He was a quiet and studious boy and enjoyed books.

Funeral services for the lad were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church. Four of his school mates were pallbearers—J. T. Even, Jr., Bobbie Miller and two Kennedy boys. All of his immediate relatives were here for the last rites which were attended by a large number of friends and conducted by the Very Rev. M. A. Schomel.
