Burial services were held on Thursday, June 1, at the Memorial Garden here for Harold Deiters, former Sioux Center resident. Reverend C. Van Schouwen officiated at the burial rites. Vander Ploeg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harold passed away at the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 55. He was the youngest son of the late Herman and Gertie (De Weert) Deiters and was born and raised in Sioux Center. He graduated from the local high school and served in the navy on a destroyer at Guadalcanal on through the invasion of the Marshals and Marianna group of islands.

His passing is mourned by his daughter, Suzanna, five sisters, Mrs. Ben Poll and Mrs. Rich Rozeboom of Sioux Center, Mrs. Edward Fischer and Mrs. Henry Addink of Muskegon, Michigan, Mrs. Walter Hughes of Des Moines, his brother, Herman of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

His parents, three brothers, Larry, Lutz and John, and one sister, Mrs. Richard Juffer, preceded him in death
