Martha Vugteveen, 78, of Rock Valley died Wednesday, August 28, in a hospital in Rock Valley. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 31, in the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Reverend Robert Timmer officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Family visitation was held in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Miss Vugteveen was born June 20, 1907, in Garfield Township, Sioux County. She attended rural school and Lebanon School.

She lived in Rock Valley until 1945 when she moved to Artesia, California. In 1961 she moved to Oregon and returned to Rock Valley in 1976. She was a housekeeper for many years.

Miss Vugteveen was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Note: She is the daughter of Manus and Elizabeth (Van Duyn) Vugteveen.
