Mrs. Henry Veld, 74, of Sanborn passed away Friday evening, in the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City, where she had undergone a second operation, Tuesday, March 4.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Sanborn Funeral Home, with Reverend Haack of Sanborn officiating, and at the First Reformed Church of Orange City (of which Mrs. Veld was a member), with Reverend Henry Colenbrander in charge. Burial was made in Orange City Cemetery.

Mrs. Veld, nee Effie Vander Zwaag, was born at Orange City in January, 1884, and was married to Henry Veld on February 21, 1907.

A son and a daughter were born to this union: Ed Veld of Sanborn and Clara, Mrs. Willis Rowenhorst, of Waterloo. Also surviving are two grandsons, one sister, Mrs. Hessel Dykstra of Sheldon, and five brothers: Peter, Ben, Bert, Jake and Henry Vander Zwaag, all of Orange City.

One brother, William Vander Zwaag, died five years ago.
