STARKWEATHER, CROWDER, MAHONEY

From the Boyden Reporter, March 14, 1912:

Miss Mary Crowder was born in Monchess, Wisconsin, March the 4th, 1855 and died at her home in Hunter township [Jackson County, Minnesota] Feb. 21, 1912 at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was first married to Edward Mahoney. To this union three boys were born, Edward, Percy and Arthur. She was married the second time to F. L. Starkweather in 1885. Three children were born to this marriage, Verna, Harry and Freddie.

The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, Feb. 23rd, from the home and interment made in the Lakefield Cemetery, the Rev. J. A. Orrock of the Methodist church reading the burial service. All of her children were present with the exception of Arthur. She also leaves two brothers and a sister, besides a husband to mourn her loss. Mrs. Starkweather had been confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was revered and respected by her many friends.

Friends from out of town who were present at the funeral were: Hon. John Morris, Mat McCabe and Henry Bergman, of Boyden, Ia.; Ernest Newton, of Brewster, Ia., and John her brother, of Owatonna, Minn. – The Lakefield [Minn.] Standard.

The Minnesota Death Certificates Index has Mary Storkweather[sic], died 21 Feb 1912 in Jackson County, certificate no. 1912-MN-005170.
