Funeral services for Mrs. Martin Vennema, 71, were held Saturday October 16, at the Hospers Christian Reformed Church, The Reverend C.R. Veenstra officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon.

Mrs. Hendreka Vennema, long time Hospers resident, died Wednesday at a Sioux City Hospital following a long illness. Hendreka Vennema was born January 27, 1884 in the Netherlands. Her husband died in 1931. Hendreka is the daughter of Harm & Roelfke (Aakster) van Dijk.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Fred Tesslink of Sheldon, Mrs. Herman Van Houten of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three sons, John of Marion, Michigan, Ralph of Bellflower, California and Herman of Hanford, California; two sisters; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
