Mr. Art Van Veldhuizen was born in Barneveld, the Netherlands, on the 28th day of March in the year 1891. At the age of 13 years he came to America and settled at Hull, Iowa, where he worked as a hired hand for four years at Hull and Boyden.

On March 6th, 1914, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Meerdink of Hull. They commemorated their 35th wedding anniversary on March 6th, 1949. He has lived in this vicinity until his passing.

Mr. Van Veldhuizen was overheated and had a weak heart, which took him Home after suffering 8 days. He was confined to his home four days and then was taken to the Hull hospital were he passed away on Friday evening, August 5, 1949, at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 8 days.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie; two sons, Everett and Wilmer; 6 grandchildren. Also two brothers, Cornelius and Everett Van Veldhuizen, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Schut, all residing at Barneveld, the Netherlands.

His father passed away on November 16th, 1937 and his mother on November 29th, 1937, just 13 days later.
