ORANGE CITY BABY DIES IN HIGH CHAIR

A tragic death occurred Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock when Dennis Lee, the seven month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Van Steenwyk died from strangulation in his high chair.

The accident happened while Mrs. Van Steenwyk went out to get a few clothes from the line. When she returned she found that the child, who was strapped in the chair, had slid down and that his head had caught under the tray choking him. Efforts to resuscitate him were to no avail.

Mr. Van Steenwyk, part time employee at the Korver Produce was out on an egg route at the time of the tragedy. Mr. and Mrs. Van Steenwyk have a son, Darrell Ray, 4 ½ years old. The grandparents are: Mr. and Mrs. Will Van Steenwyk and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Huizenga of Orange City. The date for the funeral has not been set.
