Henry Satthoff, 62, of Chatsworth died last Friday at the Veterans hospital at Knoxville, Iowa, following a long illness. [Death on 2 October 1959] Prior to going to Knoxville, Mr. Satthoff was a patient in the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock at St. Matthew's Lutheran church at Chatsworth with Rev. Luther Meyer officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Akron. The American Legion of Akron had charge of the service at the graveside.
Mr. Satthoff was born February 27, 1897, at Merrill, Iowa. He married Miss Clara Frerichs of Preston township November 9, 1915. The couple farmed in the Akron and Hawarden area until 1941, when they moved to Chatsworth.
He was a veteran of World War I and a former member of the Two Oakes post of the American Legion in Hawarden. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Hart and Mrs. Stanley Martinellie, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.,; a brother, Gerd of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Claus Frerichs of Le Mars and four grandchildren.
