The youngest child, Gerrit, of Mrs. Peter Van Maasdam, passed away last week as the result of the influenza. The child was buried on Friday afternoon at the Boyden Cemetery. This is the second death in this family within a week's time. We understand that Mrs. Van Maasdam is now ill with the dreaded disease.

Gerrit Van Maasdam was laid to rest at Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden, Sioux County, Iowa.

This bit of news is indeed sad and is a terrible shock to the relatives and friends of the family. We hope that the disease can soon be checked and that the balance of the family will soon be restored to good health.
