Henry D. Van Maanen, 69, of Rock Valley died Friday in a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Reverend Roger Bultman officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Van Maanen was born December 12, 1914, in rural Rock Valley, son of Dick and Dena (Vrymoet) Van Maanen and attended Rock Valley Christian Schools. He farmed in the Rock Valley area until 1980 when he retired and moved into town.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was a past deacon of the church.

Survivors include three brothers, Gerrit, John and Dick, all of Rock Valley and one sister, Mrs. Bert (Gertrude) Van't Hul of Rock Valley.
