Mrs. Ray "Remmert" Van Kalsbeek nee Gijsje "Gracie" De Bruyn passed on Monday morning, May 3 at the age of 78 years.

She was born April 29, 1876 at Hoormaar, Zuid Holland and came to America with her parents at the age of 12 years and grew to womanhood near Hospers.

She was married to Ray "Remmert" Van Kalsbeek on March 2, 1902 and lived near Volga, South Dakota later moving back to Hospers vicinity in 1908 on the farm north west of Hospers. In 1934 they retired and moved to town.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, Clarence and Peter Van Kalsbeek and eight grandchildren, also one brother, Sam De Bruyn of Sheldon and five sisters. Mrs. D. Vande Berg, Mrs. Maggie Siersema of Pipestone, Minnesota, Mrs. Lena Rompkema of Edgerton, Minnesota, Nancy and Cornelia De Bruyn of Hospers.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Albert Toering, Mrs. Artie Venema and one brother, Reverend Jacob De Bruyn and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. De Bruyn.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 P.M. from the home here and at 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church with Reverend John Hollenbeck officiating. Burial in the Hospers Cemetery.
