Sam Van Kekerix, 77, Rock Valley, died at his home April 25.

Services were held at 10 a.m. April 28 in the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. The Reverend W. Suijker officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Van Kekerix was born August 10, 1897 at Chandler, Minnesota. He married Martha Koedam May 26, 1916 at Rock Valley. The couple farmed in the area until they retired in 1951. Mr. Van Kekerix was preceded in death by a son, Jim, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include the widow; a son, William of Rock Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Jeanetta) Eppinga and Mrs. Clarence (Alydia) Post, both of Rock Valley; a brother, Paul of Bellflower, California; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
