Jennie Van Kekerix, 83, of Rock Valley died Sunday, July 15, 1990 in a hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Reverend John Den Hoed officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Van Kekerix, the former Jennie Lems, was born October 6, 1906, at Hull, the daughter of Bastian and Grace (Kooiker) Lems. She married Andrew Van Kekerix February 23, 1928, at Hull.

The couple farmed in the Rock Valley area. He died November 3, 1959, and she moved to Rock Valley in 1969.

Mrs. Van Kekerix was a member of Netherlands Reformed Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Adriana) Klarenbeek of Inwood and Mrs. Albert (Grade) Van Grootheest of Rock Valley; two daughters-in-law, Jeanette Van Kekerix of Rock Valley and Marjorie Lems of Inwood; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Faber of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Bert and James and a son-in-law, William Klarenbeek.
