JAMES E. VAN GORP

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church in Orange City at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 27, for James E. Van Gorp, 80, of Orange City, who died December 25 of an apparent heart attack while attending church.

Services were conducted by the Revserends R. Van Heukelom and A. J. Eissens and burial was made in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.

Mr. Van Gorp was born February 20, 1891, at Orange City, son of Peter and Dirkje (Van Olst) Van Gorp.

He married Rocina De Boer March 4, 1914, at Alton. He farmed near Hull and in Minnesota before retiring and moving into Orange City in 1948.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Lois) Rensink and Mrs. Donald (Eunice) Vander Weide both of Orange City, four sons, Marvin of Hospers, Earl of Montevideo, Minnesota, Philip of Boyden and Albert of Matlock; two brothers, Edward of Orange City and Dick of Chicago; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grand children.
