William Van Ginkel

William Van Ginkel, 85, Rock Valley, died Tuesday, July 14, 1987, in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls.

Born May 21, 1902, in Killduff, Iowa, son of Evert and Gertrude (VanDonkelaar) Van Ginkel, he attended Killduff rural school and schools in Crookston, Minnesota, and near Rock Valley.

On September 7, 1927, he married Mary Koedam in Rock Valley.

Mr. Van Ginkel was employed at Roorda Machine Shop in Rock Valley and later farmed in the Rock Valley area. In 1975, he retired into Rock Valley. He was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley.

Survivors include two sons: Edwin, Doon, Iowa; and Gerald, Sioux Falls; two daughters: Mrs. Mease (Wilma) Van Beek and Mrs. Henry (Leola) Bakker, both of Rock Valley; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Henry, Rock Valley; and Edward, Ontario, California; and four sisters: Mrs. Jim (Marie) Koedam and Mrs. Peter (Kate) Hoogendoom, both of Rock Valley; Mrs. Henry (Gertie) Koedam, Sioux Center, Iowa; and Mrs. John (Jennie) DeWit, Sioux Falls.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, in the Netherlands Reformed Church. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
