Hold Services For Mrs. Van Ginkel

Funeral services for Mrs. Evert Van Ginkel, 70, were held at the home here Wednesday, April 28 and at the Netherlands Reformed Church at 2 p.m., with Reverend J. Van Zweden officiating.

Mrs. Van Ginkel died here on April 24. Burial was made at the Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Ginkel was born Gertrude "Geertje" "Gertie" Van Donkelaar in The Netherlands on June 12, 1877. She married in Holland and came with her husband to America in the spring of 1901. They came to the Rock Valley area in 1910.

Nine children were born to this union, seven of whom are still living. They are as follows: Ralph Van Ginkel, Mrs. J. Koedam, William Van Ginkel, Mrs. H. Koedam, Henry Van Ginkel, Mrs. Hoogendoorn and Ed Van Ginkel. The two deceased children are John Van Ginkel and Mrs. John De Wit (?????). Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, one sister - Mrs. Chris Jansen, living in this country and two sisters and a brother, still living in the Netherlands.
