Funeral of Mrs. A. Van Gelder Was Held Thursday
Mrs. Arend Van Gelder passed away at her home Tuesday, September 8 at 4 A.M., at the age of 76 years.

She had been ill for more than a year with cancer of the stomach.

Mrs. Stijmtje Van Gelder (Christina Opgelder) was born in Oosterwolde, Gelderland, Netherlands.

She was married to Arend Van Gelder in Oldebroek, Gelderland, October 14, 1882. They came to America in 1888.

Surviving are her husband, Arend Van Gelder, and four children, Anna, Mrs. Starkenburg of Sibley; Ed, Ocheyedan; John, Monroe, South Dakota; and Paul, Sheldon. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at one o’clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church, with Reverend H. Schuurman officiating and interment at the Orange City Cemetery.
