His stone says his birth year was 1884, but was in fact 1882.

The death of Mr. Bert Van Dyke occurred on Sunday morning, September 9th, at the home of his mother, Mrs. A.J. Pennings.

Mr. Van Dyke, who was just 39 years old [sic], had been employed in business in Detroit, until his health compelled him to give up his work and come home a few months ago.

Besides his mother, he leaves a brother, Gerrit in Utien, New York, a sister, Miss Anna in Minneapolis and Irene of this place.

The funeral was conduced by Reverend Engelmans on Wednesday afternoon.
