Miss Ann Van Dyke passed away at a local hospital Friday, February 5 at 12.15 p.m. She had attained the age of 45 years, 10 months and 5 days.

An invalid suffering severe heart attacks at times, she sustained injuries in a fall about a month ago. From these in her weakened condition she was unable to rally.

She was born in the Netherlands and came to New York state with her parents when she was 2 years old. She lived in the East until twenty-two years of age.

When she came to Orange City, she was employed by C. Hospers & Son, later she took a business course at Mankato, Minnesota. She accepted a position as head of the stenographic department of the Weyerhauser Lumber Company in Minneapolis.

She was employed there for ten years but at that time she became ill with heart trouble and was obliged to give up work. She came home to reside with her mother.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. A. J. Pennings, one brother Garrett Van Dyke of Utica, New York and one sister, Mrs. J.W. Wiersma of Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the American Reformed Church with the pastor, Reverend Le Roy Nattress officiating assisted by Reverend H. Colenbrander. Interment was made at Orange City Cemetery.

Ann will be remembered by her many friends as a patient sufferer, uncomplaining and always cheerful.
