Mr. Henry John Vande Waa passed away at the De Bey Hospital at Orange City last Thursday evening, February 18, 1943 at the age of 39 years, after being ill for some time due to cancer.

He was born October 18, 1904 at Orange City. Following the death of his mother in the year 1914 he lived with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Haverkamp for seven years. After graduating from the Orange City High School he was employed at Cambiers Garage for the greater part of the time both before and after marriage. In the year 1929 on October 27 he was married to Miss Arta Mouw of Orange City who survives him.

In 1939 his sister Katherine, Mrs. Elmer Schouten of Rock Valley preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, and father Mr. Gerrit Vander Waa and two brothers Alfred in service at Camp Roberts, California, and Gerrit who is at Guadalcanal.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, February 21, at the American Reformed Church at Orange City with the Reverend H. Colenbrander officiating. He was assisted by the Reverend Stegeman, former missionary to Japan and who is now teaching at Junior College.

Mr. Vander Waa, was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Moeller of Sioux Center.
