Mr. Gerrit De Zeeuw of Orange city passed away early Tuesday morning Oct 3, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. He had reached the age of 68 years.

Mr. De Zeeuw was born on a farm four miles west of Orange City on July 17, 1882. At the age of nine years he moved to Sioux Center where he lived for eight years, and then moved back to the same farm where he lived until a few years ago when he retired.

On December 12, 1907 he was untied in marriage to Kate Wassenaar who preceded him in death August 24, 1944. To this union eight children were born, one passing away in infancy.

He is now survived by his widow the former Mrs. Gertie Dykstra whom he was married on Dec 27, 1947 and the following children Bert of Hull, Dora Mrs. pet Mantel of Rock Rapids, Henrietta Mrs. Barney Zigtema of Doon, Nellie Mrs. Fred De Weerd of Lakefield, MN, Gerrit of Orange City, Catherine Mrs. Henry Vander Berg Orange City, and Melvin of Chicago. There are also 14 grandchildren.

Further survivors include the step children Mrs. and Mrs. Rich Oordt and Two sisters, Mrs. Ike De Jong of Orange City and Mrs. Martin De Boer of Holland MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
