Jake De Zeeuw, 75, of Sheldon died Thursday Oct 12 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center Sheldon. Services were Monday Oct 16 at Bethel Reformed Church here with Rev. Kenneth Tenckinck officiating. Burial was in East Lawn cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon. Mr. De Zeeuw, son of Jacob and Anna DeKonning DeZeeuw, Sr. was born Jun 7, 1914, in Sioux county.

He married Viola Shriver June 26, 1935 in Sheldon. He retired from farming in 1979 and they moved into town in 1980. He was a charter member of the Bethel Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; two daughters, Donna Mrs. Novman Reekers and Glenda (Mrs. Egbert) Kragt, both of Sheldon; Five sisters, Delia Van Zee of St. Peter MN, Ann Mrs. Albertus Blumeyer of Canby NM, Kathryn Oldenkamp of Bellflower CA, Margaret Mrs. Erwin Boone of Sheldon and Joyce Mrs. Pete Smit of George; five brothers, Clifford and Paul of El Paso TX, Howard of Evansville WI, Kenneth of St. Peter MN and Lorraine of Bellflower CA and five granddaughters.
